ONBOARD
The Virtus Beginners Programme

Our onboarding course runs for 4 weeks from the start of every month. If you have always wanted to try BJJ but are concerned about jumping into regular classes this is the course for you. We cover everything from the very basics. You will learn what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu actually is, what the goals and objectives are, the common terms, positions and how to apply some basic ideas and techniques. Once completed you will be eligable to join the regular classes at VIRTUS, with a focus on our 'Concepts' Programme.

CONCEPTS
The Virtus Fundamentals Programme

Not your average Fundamendals programme, Concepts will get you up to speed fast! In this programme we focus on teaching the principles and concepts that underpin everything in Jiu Jitsu. You will learn the principles behind take downs, guard, passing and submissions which will then inform every technique you learn in the Adult Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling Classes.

ADULT JIU JITSU (Gi)
The Virtus All Levels Gi Jiu Jitsu Programme

The Adult Jiu Jitsu programme is where all grades train together in all aspects of BJJ. These classes follow a 'training block' format, where each month will have its own focus. From beginner to advanced, over the course of each training block practitioners will refine specific techniques, sequences and approaches. All training blocks contain innovative positional and situational training approaches to embed the technical understanding in rolling and free exchange.

SUBMISSION GRAPPLING (No-Gi)
The Virtus All Levels No Gi Programme

Grappling without the uniform has exploded in popularity in recent years. At Virtus we provide a limited number of classes in this aspect of grappling, and have produced a number of British Champions and International Medalists in No Gi competition. Here you will learn the specific nuances and technical variations of grappling without the Gi, all in line with our 'Training Block' approach.

COMPETITION TRAINING
The Virtus Athlete Preparation Programme

The infamous 'Comp Class' at Virtus Academy  is designed to test the practitioners skill, cardio and mental resiliance. These 1.5 hour sessions are entirely focused on situational or positional sparring, rolling and randori (stand up Grappling). We utilize intelligent training design to ensure everyone in the room, regardless of fitness level or belt grade gets the maximum advantage from the session.

COMPETITIVE ATHLETE PATHWAY
The Virtus Competitor  Programme

Virtus Academy is proud to offer limited places to athletes who wish to become elite level competitors. Coach Chris will help to guide these individuals in their journey towards national and international championships. These pathways are by selection only, but are open to all age and grade levels. The only pre-requisit is the athletes commitment!
